Extended Communications Server
The Alcatel-Lucent Extended Communication Server is a key component of the OmniPCX Office Communications Solution
This simple flexible, reliable module brings a wealth of additional features to the OmniPCX Office business telephony server, including shared and secure internet access, remote access for mobile employees, email, web servers and collaborative applications.
Designed for very small, small and medium businesses, the Extended Communication Server can easily be upgraded to offer additional capacity or functionalities. No extra hardware or software is required, although optional software packages open up a range of additional capabilities.
Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephony
Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) enables users to make and receive calls when they are away from their desk, through a DECT handset.
Using wireless technology, professional DECT phones rely on a network on on-site base stations to provide seamless access for people on the move throughout the building. Improved accessibility means fewer missed calls, greater customer satisfaction and increased staff efficiency.
Typical abilities of a domestic DECT Generic Access Profile (GAP) system include:
- Multiple handsets to one base station and one phone line socket. This allows several cordless telephones to be placed around the house, all operating from the same telephone jack. Additional handsets usually have a battery charger station instead of a base station. The additional handsets do not require additional telephone sockets or additional transceivers
- Interference-free wireless operation to around 100 metres outdoors. Operates clearly in common congested domestic radio traffic situations.
- Ability to make internal calls between handsets with full feature rich access of a wired terminal
- An extended range between the telephone and base (allowing greater physical distance between the two devices)
- Extended battery talk-time up to 24 hours
